As a baby is delivered to this world there is something that needs to have the treatment by her mother or father. It is umbilical cord. It is very important to know the way of umbilical cord care. As we know that this baby’s part is something that connects baby with her mother during nine month ten days during pregnancy in order to supply food to baby. After the baby was birth, the treatment of umbilical cord must be conducted in very great way for sure.
First, the mother must know that the umbilical cord is very important for baby. Thus, special treatment must be done in very careful manner. Here is some umbilical cord care that can be done for the baby. It is very important to clean the umbilical cord regularly, but we cannot do it during cleaning the baby. It is susceptible. Thus do not let the water enter inside of it. And, we cannot also apply something on it. Also for applying baby powder since if it is moist it can stimulate some bacteria to grow and live there or even fungus.
Umbilical cord care can be done just by covering it with sterilized gauze. It is enough without applying something firstly. This will help the umbilical cord to naturally dry that finally will be cut down by itself. After the umbilical cord is already cut, it is still important to cover it with gauze until it perfectly dries and does not need to be covered anymore.
