Question (Q) : I saw my friend’s baby who was easy to be weaned, while my baby doesn’t want to eat solid food though I had already tried many ways. I’m confused, how can I make my baby to be interested to eat solid food instead of milk?
Answer (A) : The weaning process needs continuity, it takes time, needs a lot of effort, and also requires full of tactics. Until about 1 year old or more, baby gained most of her nutrition needs from breast milk or replacing-breast-milk substance.
In this case, you have to consider your baby’s habit which usually consumes liquid (milk) instead of solid foods when you want to introduce solid foods to her. If you try to introduce solid foods to baby right after she is consuming breast milk then you have to prepare to get rejection from her, it might that she still full. You are suggested to often take a baby to eat together with the family. If she looks like interested to also try to consume foods that you are consuming, you immediately give that foods to her. Baby, whoever she is, always like to resemble what people doing around.
You don’t have to worry if your baby still doesn’t want to eat solid foods, as long as her development and growth are going well suited according to the standard development charts as many experts had said.
