Question (Q): I know it is good for baby to explore her ability using her toys, but sometimes I find my baby put her toys into her mouth. When seeing that thing I always try to stop my baby’s activity since I know that it will bring bad effect to her health, she can sick after all and I don’t want that thing till happened. Why baby likes to put her toys inside her mouth?
Answer (A): Baby starts to like put her toys inside her mouth when she is towards 2 years old. This kind of activity is conducted because of her interest to that toy instead of her curiosity to the toys’ taste. When she is towards 3 years old, baby usually starts to stop putting the toys into her mouth.
Baby is also often put the toys inside her mouth when she is in teething time. If you don’t want your baby to put her toys inside the mouth then don’t let them to hold it too long. Thus, you have to always supervise your baby when she is playing with her toys.
