The Way to Handle the Habit of Urinate on Bed or other Places at Children

Child urinate on bed In the medical terminology, the habit of urinating on bed or other places called enuresis which means the inability to control urine in awake or in sleep situation. But this problem can’t be solved by being mad or giving punishment to children. Always support them to handle this bad habit.

Using cover on mattress can make children misunderstood. They think that they are allowed to urinate on bed. If you wear them diaper, it will not make the children change their bad habit fast. If they are already 2 years old, Mom should help them to not use them diaper or cover anymore when they sleep.

The way is by limiting the drinking consumption mainly the beverage that contains caffeine like tea, chocolate, or soda. Make the schedule for going to the bathroom, at least 30 minutes before sleeping time. Don’t forget to give them compliment if they can handle the habit of urinating in any places because it can gain in themselves that this bad habit is something that they must always be avoided

Giving them punishment by not allowing them to sleep on mattress is not a wise solution to stop this bad habit. But, it doesn’t mean that you set them free from their responsibility. Involve them in cleaning the mattress. It can be when you wash the bed sheet or dry the mattress.

Make that activity into something fun like playing activity. Maybe they are not older enough to help you, but seeing you busy because of their attitude will make them not repeat that habit again. But don’t make your children feel guilty intentionally, because it will only press their confidence.

Besides, the habit of urinate on bed or other places can be caused by the biologist factor. For example is the capacity of their bladder is smaller than other children so it gives them sensation to always urinate. Or it can be caused by the production of anti diuretic hormone (it can impede the production of urine) is limited. If this happened to your children, you should take them to join hypnosis therapy. Your children really need your support and your patience to handle the habit of urinating in any places.
